Two toilet blocks have been constructed – one each at Belgachia and Tikiapara slums.

Two multipurpose centres have been constructed – one each at Belgachia and Tikiapara slums.

During March, Sixteen general health camps were conducted at two locations where 139 male, 184 female and 63 children below the age of five years attended. One camp specifically identified and treated eye complaints organized at Belgachia where 30 patients attended.

During the month of March, a total of Seventy Eight children (29 boys and 49 girls) received educational inputs at the two multipurpose centres.

Two adult literacy classes have also commence in two of the project locations. Total enrolment to date is 38 (10 males and 28 females).

Eight awareness programmes on ‘safe hygiene practices and environmental sanitation’ in the project settlements, have helped to increase community participation in the project activities.

During April an approach road is under construction to ensure better access to the multipurpose centre and the toilet block at Belgachia, as the existing road was in disrepair and during the monsoon was completely inaccessible.
