October News

The coaching season is in full swing and we have many of our juniors participating at the moment. We had a couple of competitions during the month and there were some great performances including

  • Julie Byrne has just won the U18 tournament in Riverview so very well done to her
  • Rachel Hartnett,  Michael Barron and Conor Gannon were all winners in the Naas Open – a great result
  • Our U12 team were in the final of the Templeogue Day Cup and lost by a single point – team was Michael Barron, Ben and Conor Gannon, Rachel Hartnett, Sarah McAuley and Sarah Healy – so well done to them
  • Our U12 Stars and Stripes team won their final on the 6th of October retaining the trophy they won last March
  • Our U14 Stars and Stripes team surprised us all by winning their pool and qualifying for a home semi-final on Saturday 10th November – very best of luck to them

On the social side we had 2 fun tournaments in the mid-term break and the U12 one was particularly well supported. Adrienne is arranging a special invitational tournament on Friday 16th November. Also Anne Marie McGrath has kindly arranged tennis for the 18-25 age group – not strictly juniors but most of them just through the ranks.  There was positive feedback from those who attended

All in all a good month
