Very well done to them all

Fun Tournaments

There have been a number of fun tournaments so far this year, but the main one was definitely the February mid-term one which was combined with a cake sale. There will be more of these over the summer

Parent and Child Tournament

This was held on the bank holiday Monday and as usual was a great success.  There were six sections this year and the winners were as follows:

Section 1        :           Rob  & Lara  Kelly

Section 2                    Lorna & Dan  Kelly

Section 3                    Ciaran & Ronan Bolger

Section 4                    Willie & Aaron Dunne

Section 5                    Jackie  &  Sean Colfer

Section 6                    Peter  & Charlie  Woodcock

Lots of buzz around the club!

Summer Trips

As advised earlier in the year there will be a number of trips this year. A group of u12/U14 girls is going to the Castlebar Open this month and a group of u18 boys and girls will be going to Rushbrook in Cork in August  – we will have all the results in the autumn newsletter

Senior Leagues

It is particularly great to see the number of juniors who have successfully made the transition to the senior league teams – so many of them are playing with distinction it is impossible to name them all but I have to highlight a few! I’ll start with Rachel Hartnett , Anna Schwer and Lara Sommerville who are playing on the senior ladies teams for the first time this year – Rachel has already helped the ladies first team to the Class 2 winter league final and promotion to Class 1 and is playing superbly on the Ladies first team in Summer league.

Both Rachel and Anna are doing their junior cert but have still found time to play for the club so well done to them. For the men, David Cullen was excellent in the no 1 doubles on the men’s first team helping them to win the Class 2 event and promotion to Class 1 and that team also included Fergus O Rourke and Gary Galvin.

The current men’s second team which has already qualified for the Class 3 playoffs has 4 current juniors – Gary Galvin, Harry Crossan, David Keane and Gary Kelly and is captained by Kevin Wylde who has just left the junior ranks this year. This just highlights how important it is to keep bringing those juniors through so many thanks to Stephen and all the coaches for keeping the pipeline coming!

We would also like to congratulate Sarah Healy who is one of our u16 girls on her outstanding achievements in cross country running over the past few months, Sarah won both the national schools and clubs titles and to cap it off won the international schools event also! Very well done Sarah

Finally we really want to wish all of our juniors the very best of luck in the Junior and Leaving Cert  – nearly over now and we hope it all goes well!
