Kennelly Tournament

The Kennelly Tournament took place on Saturday 29th September 2012.  The weather was perfect and 40 players took part in a well organised tennis tournament.  The handicaps were in the hands of an expert and the winners were:  Jane O’Rourke and Mark McAllister.  There were other prizes for various categories as decided by the Tournament director Ciaran Kennelly.

50 people sat down to the usual delicious meal of country bacon cooked by Susie.  Paula (daughter of Mary Meagher) made the lovely salads and desserts.  There was plenty of help in the kitchen from the Kennelly clan.

This tournament was started in 1985 by Ciaran and Susie and, with a few gap years, is a regular on the Monkstown calendar.   A big thank you to the Kennellys for doing this every year.

€450 was raised for the local Vincent de Paul. Well done and thank you to all who took part.
