Ladies Winter League Update

We are now 3 weeks in to a very competitive Ladies Winter League so a quick update on their progress as they face into their last 2 matches:

Our 1st team started their campaign on March 3rd so they have played 2 matches to date, recording one win and one loss. They were unlucky to lose 2 close 3 setters away to Naas in the teeming rain, and will face Fitzwilliam at home this week.

Team 2 are battling away in a tough Class 2 group with a hard match at home last week against the first team from Castleknock. They are hopeful of a good result in Carrickmines this week.

The 3rd team captained by Angela McLoughlin is going well with 2 wins out of 3 to date. They were lucky to avoid the rain last week by playing their match on Saturday away to Lansdowne, to avoid the road closures etc from the rugby fixture on Sunday. Here’s to another win at home against Blackrock this weekend!

Team 4 are playing in another tough group with an away draw against Leixlip 1 this Sunday. Best of luck to captain Sinead Owens and her team.

Ursula O’Connell is captaining a storming 5th team who currently lead all teams playing in Class 5 with 8 points out of 9!!! Well done for a fantastic campaign. They will be endeavouring to keep up their unblemished record at home against Bective 1 this weekend.

Team 6 faces a must win match against Greystones in a tight group this week. With 3 wins to date they will be hoping to record another win in what promises to be a tough match.

Anne Noonan will be captaining Team 7 also away to Greystones.  With 1 win to date and 2 narrow losses they will be keen to get a good result.
