Men’s Winter League Round 2

The 1st team enjoyed another win; this time against local rivals Blackrock 1. Michael McMahon and Will Wilshere clinching the deciding point to take the tie 2-1. That’s 5 points from 6 for Stephen O’Shea’s team, who face Sandycove 2 next weekend in another local derby.

The 2nd team managed a point away to Co Wicklow 2, thanks to Simon Cusack and Adam Craig. Denis Feighery’s men will need a win next round to put them back on track for a place in the knockout stages.

Karl Murray’s 3rd team had an impressive 3-0 win over Lansdowne 5. Karl and his partner Kyle Murray fought back to win an epic 4-6 7-6 7-6. The result puts them right back in contention for a playoff place.

The 4th team went down 3-0 to Shankhill 3 away from home. They host Naas 4 next weekend.

Frank Kane and Niall O’Carroll easily claimed a point for the 5th team at home to LCC 3 but the team lost 2-1. Richard Keevey and Lar Ging were unfortunate to loose out deep into the 3rd set in a match with some incredible rallies in the windy conditions.
