Men’s Winter League Round 3

Another comprehensive 3-0 win for the 1st team who beat Sandycove 2 in a rain-drenched match in MLTC. They remain firmly on course for the playoffs.

The 2nd team experienced “nightmare conditions” away to Greystones 2. Unfortunately the conditions reflected the result with the team losing 0-3. A huge thank you to Hugo Faugnan who answered the call to sub in a few hours before the match on Sunday morning.

The 3rd team saw off the challenge of Leopardstown 2 with a comfortable 3-0 victory. That result leaves them top their group and Karl Murray’s team will be full of confidence when they host Blackrock 3 next week in their penultimate group game.

The 4th team endured near impossible conditions against Naas 4 and were rewarded with a point thanks to subs Fintan Buckley and Edwin Hynes. Needless to say, their upcoming match against Glenageary 4 next weekend is must win.

The 5th team also picked up a point away to Co Wicklow 4 courtesy of Richard Keevey and Lar Ging. It was a close match with both remaining doubles going the distance. The team face a tough trip away to Greystones 6 next Sunday who topped the group going into this round of matches. Captain Keevey will no doubt have prepared his men for the challenge.
