Men’s Winter League Round 4

The 1st team continued their unbeaten run with a win over Malahide 3. Emil Klosinski and Fergus O’Rourke, the latter playing in his first season for the team, won a tough match in straight sets. Fergus confidently saved three set points on his serve before the pair wrapped up a 2-1 win for the ‘town.

The 2nd team went down 2-1 to a strong Wicklow 1 team. Adam Craig and Simon Cusack put in a solid straight sets performance to claim a point. A win at home to Shankhill 2 will be enough to keep them safe from the drop.

Kyle Murray and Karl Murray showed their mettle once again winning an exciting third set tie-breaker for the second time in three weeks. It was enough to give the 3rd team a crucial 2-1 win. Another win next week with other results going their way could see them snatch a playoff spot.

In the early match, the 4th team beat Glenageary 4. Pairings Brian O’Neill/Fintan Buckley and Edwin Hynes/Mark McAllister both triumphed to make the final score 2-1.

Unfortunately the 5th team lost 3-0 away to Greystones 6. They prop up the table together with C’Mont R’Way 4 who they face in the next round in a shoot out to avoid finishing bottom.

Next Sunday at 11am the 2nd and 3rd teams play at home in their final group game. Supporters welcome!
