News and Events 13th April 2017

The Captains’, Greg &  Deirdre, have asked me to remind you that Tuesday next is the deadline to signup for “Their Day” on Saturday 22nd! The Summer League deadline to signup is Tuesday 25th.

CLUBNIGHT: Club night tonight will be hosted by Robert Sheehan…a nice way to start the Easter break – so pop down and hit a few tennis balls.

JUNIORS: The Easter Camps are on going & being enjoyed by all participants.  There was a “Giant Tournament & Easter Egg hunt” yesterday with at least 50 kids taking part!  Well done to Stephen for organizing it and to Adrienne, Roisin, Fionnualla, Diane & Irene who helped out. Catherine Keane and Alice O’Connell are organizing a Pizza Tournament for Teenagers on Wednesday next (the 19th) from 3pm to 5pm, signup sheet on the Notice board or you can email Judy. Karen Mac Kenna will be here next week from 10am to  1pm to supervise the Juniors.

Rachel is playing in her first tournament (The Brookfield Open) since she broke her ankle and is doing very nicely. She’s seeded No 1 in the U/16 singles & is due to play her semi this afternoon…best of luck Rachel!

The Leinster league starts back next week with the Boys U/18 team only needing 1 point to qualify for the semis!

The subject of On Line Court Booking was raised at the AGM last November. The Executive Committee were asked to make a decision regarding its introduction. The Committee have agreed to install the system. It will take time to have it up and running but you’ll be kept informed.

Parking on the driveway can be quite hazardous at times so I’ve been asked to remind members that there is no Parking in the turning circle & please adhere to the No Parking signs! New lamps are being fitted on the driveway this Saturday morning so the Electrician will need full access, with the result the driveway will be closed to facilitate the work.

You may have seen the note on the Notice Board regarding “Sox” (the cat who has been in residence in the club for a couple of years now) asking for a new home. For various reasons  The Executive Committee have decided she must live elsewhere so if you can help out let me know.

Another plea for volunteers to do Lock Up duty! The list is dwindling  –  it’s just 6 days a week out of 365!….so please please please!!
