News and Events 13th September 2018

The Senior League is progressing very nicely with all teams having had wins. Hope you’re all enjoying your campaign and that we’ll have lots of teams featuring in Playoffs! Again, apologies to Men’s Morning on Sundays who have to finish their tennis at 11am, this week there are 2 matches at 11, so get down early before you enjoy your croissants! Court availability in the afternoon is equally restrictive, with no courts free between 2pm and 5pm.
The Round Robin singles tournament has proved very popular with 7 Groups of 6 players participating. Well done to Carmel McAllister for organising it.

CLUB NIGHT: Rob McCullagh has volunteered to host Club Night tonight! . There are a couple of gaps on the Rota sheet so please sign up!

LADIES MORNING; Ladies Morning started back last Wednesday and the Committee were there to welcome all. Great numbers came down for the coaching with Stephen at 9am followed by a game and then a cuppa. Sarah Jane asked me to tell you to save the following dates: Wednesday 24th October – Halloween Tournament and Friday 30th November – Annual Christmas Party. More details of these two events will follow shortly.

JUNIORS: The Coaching Term recommenced this week. Let me know if you have any queries re Groups etc. If you wish to pay the fee online the details are as follows

Lucia Shelly has asked me to mention she is running a “Monkstown Ladies Golf Outing” on Friday 21st September in Charlesland Golf Club. Tee times are 8.50 to 9.40 am, it will be either 9 or 13 holes. Cost €10.00. Signup sheet on the Notice Board.

Just a reminder, with the evenings quickly closing in, that Floodlight cards are available to purchase in Hewett’s News agency, Goggin’s Pub and McCormack’s pub in Mounttown.A little request from members who play tennis under lights, particularly on courts 2 and 3.
The headlights from cars coming up the drive to the turning circle can almost blind people on these two courts. As the driveway lights are on, it really isn’t necessary to have your headlights on at all….so please turn them off! Thanks.
