News & Events 13th April 2018

Will this gloomy weather ever end? There was no gloom here in the club last Sunday when we hosted the “Tennis 4 Cancer” event. It was a resounding success with the super total of €2,225.00 raised on the day – (thanks to the many members who were unable to play but made a contribution). Niall and Denise organised the tennis end of the day while our super caterers Mary and Geraldine produced delicious food throughout the day. A healthy Brunch for the morning session and a beautiful afternoon tea, complete with China cups, saucers and teapots! The event is the brainchild of our own Grace Owens whose good friend and fellow Tennis Coach Anne Marie Errity passed away from cancer last year. Grace said a lovely few words as did our President Geraldine. Again, a huge Thank You to Niall, Denise Mary & Geraldine and the many other helpers who made the day such a resounding success and of course to all who contributed so generously. For the record the Winners:-

Morning session: Eoin Langford & Margaret Heagney, Jennifer Byrne & Yvonne Handy and Craig Oliver & Suzanne Broughan.
Afternoon Session: Ken Ryan & Fiona O’Sullivan, Richard Keevey & Jacqui Colfer and Geraldine Speer & Lisa Blake.
