News & Events 16th November 2017

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Tom (President) – Liam (Treasurer) – Jacqui (Secretary) – Greg (Men’s Capt) – Deirdre (Ladies Capt) – Claire (Junior coordinator) – Margaret / Breege (event co coordinators) for the absolute commitment they all gave in their various areas. Thank you all so much and enjoy your retirement!

Arek keeps the courts & the grounds in super condition under the guidance of Mark Smyth. The Gardening Committee continue their wonderful work giving such a dash of colour to the Club, spearheaded by Trish ably assisted by Marie, & Joan.
The Men’s 2nd floodlight team were pipped in their semi-final match last Monday night but gain promotion to Class 2. There seems to have been a continuous run of league matches since the beginning of September so a well-earned break for all until the Winter League at the end of January. Again, thanks to all the members who had to forfeit their courts to facilitate the various league matches.
The final matches of the Sunday Brunch take place this w/end. A lovely gesture by the Captains is to donate the profit from the event €100 0 to Stephen for the Special needs children to buy any piece of equipment that they might need, very much appreciated.
The last round of the Ladies Morning Charity League matches will be played next Mon/Tues. All 6 teams have had a great campaign and have done Monkstown proud! Again, thanks to the members who facilitated the playing of the matches on Mon/Tues morning over the last couple of weeks.
A reminder that the Ladies Christmas Party is on Friday 1st Dec in the Clubhouse. The signup sheet will be taken down on Friday 24th Nov. Payment – €30 – should be given to me in the office or to a member of the Committee by Friday 24th.
