News & Events 17th August 2017

The Championships are progressing very nicely – with some very competitive matches being played. The weather has been very kind, other than last Monday night when the heavens opened. All matches were completed, bar two, which was an amazing feat, well done to all concerned!  The Ladies who have volunteered to do supper each evening have produced gorgeous goodies and our thanks to Matthew for serving refreshments.

The 1/4 Final stage of all events will be reached by Monday next, with the Plate & Bowl competitions being run through Sunday (Keep a close eye on the website for match times on Sunday). Don’t worry guys no disruption to your Men’s Morning!! That will leave a week of super matches next week. Greg has asked me to remind you to check the website as late as possible in the evening (or early in the morning) as matches can be changed at the 11th hour and please no “Unavailability” next week! Also Deirdre would like you to check the Sign in Sheet and volunteer a time next week.

The Table Plan for the At Home is now on the Notice Board so make sure you get your name up, either on a table or the list provided.

I bet you didn’t know that Monkstown LTC is 140 years old this year!  Margaret Heagney does and she and Breege (E) are hosting tomorrow night with special goodies!  Do pop down and be part of this special celebration!

The Annual “Golden Oldies” night hosted by Mick & Breege Clancy will take place next Tuesday. It is always a most enjoyable night with a delicious sit down meal. As always all monies go to Mick & Breege’s chosen Charity “CRY”  –  Cardiac Risk in the Young.  There is a signup sheet on the Notice Board, if you can’t make it down to the club email Judy and she’ll put your name up. Contribution €20.   Supper 7.30pm.
