News & Events 18th October 2018

Then there were none! Unfortunately, we have no team featuring in the Finals of the Senior League next weekend, but not for the want of trying. Our Men’s’ 2nd O/35 team came nearest to winning their Semifinal last Sunday and were just pipped 2/1, having won a super Quarterfinal on Saturday in atrocious weather conditions. You had a great team Eoin Langford in Greg Ryan, Niall O’Carroll, Andrew O’Kelly and super subs Neil Redmond & Patrick Nolan. Very tough luck!
The Floodlight league is now well underway with three matches played. The Men have two teams entered with the 1st’s top of their section and the 2nd’s struggling a bit. The Ladies have four teams entered, the 1st team are also top of their section, 2nd’s in 3rd place, 3rd’s in 4th place and the 4th team struggling a bit. All to play for with two matches to go! By the way thanks again to all members who miss out on their regular games on Monday and Tuesday nights because of this league.
Club Night: Club Night tonight will be hosted by Barbara Liston. With the beautiful weather, be prepared for a busy night!
Ladies Morning: The Autumn Charity League is underway, best of luck to all teams!
The sign-up sheet for the popular Ladies Halloween tournament is filling up very nicely. Please note that the deadline is Saturday next, with the draw being done on Monday morning, so please, NO cancellations! N. B. the tournament starts at 9.30am and the entry fee is €15.00

Juniors: Couple of exciting events being planned for the Halloween break. Stephen is running a Camp for U/10’s from Tuesday 30th to Friday 3rd November, 10am – 12 noon. Sign-up sheet on the Notice Board. The Giant Fun Pizza tournament (Wednesday 31st November, 12noon – 2.30pm) is proving very popular with lots of names already signed up. Adrienne is running a “Teen” tournament on Thurs 1st November for 13 to 16 year old’s from 4 – 6pm. Cost €5.00 to include Pizza.
The DLTC Boys / Girls U/14 League Teams are doing brilliantly, with the Girls top of their section and the Boys, 2nd in theirs. So, with one match to go it looks good for the Playoff stages! The U/14 Star & Stripes is also up and running.

I’ve been asked by The Castle Park Residents Association to remind members re parking in Castle Park to please park on the left-hand side only as you approach the Park, and even then, not opposite another car so traffic can move through easily. Many thanks.
