News & Events 19th April 2018

At last, Spring seems to have sprung! What a difference a week makes, it is just magical looking out at clear blue skies.  The club is really looking good – what with the new Floodlights which have shown a huge improvement at night. Today Court Care have done a full maintenance job on all the courts and yesterday the “Gardening Ladies”, spearheaded by Trish, were down giving the place a lift in time for Captains’ Day. We have a new fridge in the kitchen, note the ice packs are kept in the First Aid box which is situated in the drawer under the Microwave.

Captains’ Day is the next big event happening this Saturday. Niall & Denise have now taken down the signup sheet, they’ve ask that there are NO CANCELLATIONS please! Tennis starts at 10.30am SHARP, drinks reception at 7.30pm followed by Dinner – Prize giving and a bit of craic! As always Mary & Geraldine have asked me to remind you to “Bring a Plate” of goodies. Stephen’s league coaching for the Ladies  in the afternoon is cancelled. There will be no court availability between 10.30am – 2pm

Club Night: Robert Sheehan is hosting Club Night tonight, so on this beautiful day pop down and have a hit! Thanks a million Robert.

The next League for The Ladies Morning group is the popular 5 Mile League, for non-league players and is played on a Sunday evenings. The league starts on Sunday 13th May. Sign-up sheet is on the Notice Board.

Please do not pay coaching fees into any other account and identify your name clearly! The Juniors came out in numbers last Friday for the Tennis 4 Cancer event, it was every bit as enjoyable as the Senior Day. Close to 70 children played – Stephen & Adrienne organised the tennis with many of the Mums giving a helping hand. Thanks so much to all concerned. Grace Owens – the instigator of the Tennis 4 Cancer event among so many clubs was bowled over by the amount Monkstown raised, the final figure hit the €3.000 mark.
