News & Events 22nd July 2016

Well the Handicaps are reaching there conclusion with Finals Day next Saturday….ending two weeks of really competitive tennis played in balmy weather conditions  –  and an excuse for a chilled beer or glass of wine!

At a glance there seem to have been a lot of 3 setter matches…a sign of good handicapping!  Well done Breege & Andrew – not an easy job to get it right.

Thanks to the volunteers who produced delicious food each evening & to the “sign in” crew.

Keep Saturday afternoon free to pop down & support the finalists – also remember to bring a plate of goodies to help out Emily & Clodagh do the afternoon tea.

REMINDER;  Last chance to put your name up if you want to go to the  BBQ  is tomorrow.

CONGRATULATIONS  to Kate G. who has been selected by the DLTC to represent Dublin in the annual league fixture v Belfast to be played in Larne on Saturday 13th August. Kate was  selected as a result of her excellent run in Class 2 of the Summer League – she will play both Singles & Doubles.  A great honour for you & the Club Kate!

The sign up sheet for the Senior League (Ladies) is on the Notice Board so if you want to be considered for selection sign up ASAP.

Again we’d ask Mums & Dads to pop down & watch some great tennis!

Well done to Adrienne for running the tournament so efficiently – ably assisted by Harry.

There are still a few places for the Camp being run next week by Stephen, sign up sheet on the Notice Board….. Camp 5 will be run from Tues 2nd –  Fri  5th Aug.

The results from Greystones last week were very good…..Gary  won the U/16 singles – Conor  & his partner won the U/ 16 / 18 doubles  &  Lily  beat Anna  in the U16/18 plate.  Very well done Gary – Conor – Lily & Anna!

Sutton is the venue this week & I’ve just got word that Conor  has reached the Final of both the U/14 & U/16 singles & is about to go on court with Fergus  to play the semi of the U/18 doubles….very best of luck on Saturday Conor! – & hopefully to you & Fergus in the doubles!

That’s it for this week….busy busy times in MLTC – but as always enjoyable!
