News & Events 24th November 2016

The Ladies Floodlight team went down to a very strong Malahide team in the Final last Tuesday night….but congratulations on reaching Class 1 – to join the Winter League & Summer League teams who now are all in Class 1. A super achievement in 1 year. Congrats to our former Lady Captain, Breege, who showed huge enthusiasm for all the league teams….a hard act to follow Deirdre!!  By the way a big Thank You to all the supporters who travelled to Templeoge to cheer the team on.

Not to be outdone our Men got promoted to Class 1 in the Winter League & were pipped by a point for promotion to Class 1 in the Summer League…all to play for Greg!

The popular Sunday Brunch concluded last Sunday…well done to Breege, Emily & Clodagh for organising such an enjoyable couple of weeks..enjoy your retirement Ladies!

The Turkey tournaments are next on the calendar – the first events for our new Captains’ Deirdre & Greg & Social co ordinators Margaret & Breege (Egan!)!

Sunday Dec 4th:   –   Men @ 10.30 am   –   Ladies @ 2pm.

Sunday 11th:   Mixed  @  12 noon.    Sign up sheet on the Notice Board.

Club Night: Club Night tonight is hosted by Joe Gallagher. Nice evening so pop down for a hit.

The Ladies Morning League is now completed – with 3 Monkstown teams reaching the Semi finals – a brilliant achievement!

The Monday team play Fitzwilliam on Monday next 28th in Monkstown @ 10am…best of luck to Anne Mc Gannon & Caroline Berwick (C) – Susan Thornbury & Jacqui Mc Cabe – Aislinn Cullen & Yvonne Handy.

Would you believe the 2 Tuesday teams who reached the Semi play each other!

Fionnuala Duddy (C) & Karen Ivory – Sara Jane Kerr & Joanna Duffy – Mandy O’Flynn & Irene Nolan   V    Lisa O’Sullivan & Emily Kelly – Carmel Buckley & Caroline Mc Namara – Siobhan Coburn & Ann Ringrose. Tough luck on Jackie Halion who captained the team & is out through injury – as is Sam Haughton.

Just a reminder re the Ladies Christmas Party on Friday 2nd Dec..please drop the €30 to Judy in the office or give it to one of the ladies on the Committee by Tues next the 29th.

Juniors:   Four of our Juniors were also having great success on the tennis court….

Conor  U/16 – Josh  U/14 – Charlie U/12 & Roy  U/12 won through the Leinster Provincial Matchplays last w/end & have qualified for the National Matchplays over the W/end 9th/ 10th & 11th Dec. Well done guys – a super achievement. Very best of luck in the Nationals!
