News & Events 29th March 2018

The Blue and Gold league continues tomorrow night with both teams in good positions to qualify for the playoffs. Good luck to Frank and his Gold Team and to Lar and his Blue Team! Brendan and his Easter Cup have a break this week, they’d need it after their heroics last Saturday’s match against Sandycove, they were level at one all when Aaron & Gus win their match in a 10-8 tie-break in the third set. Super win guys!

We welcome The Evergreens Tennis Club for their annual visit to Monkstown on Saturday next – 31st March. Four courts will be booked from 12.30pm – 3.30pm

A reminder that the Tennis 4 Cancer Tournament will be held on Sunday week – 8th April. Signup sheet on the Notice Board, this is a once off event which is being coordinated by our own Grace Owens. She has asked all Leinster clubs to arrange a tournament so let’s give it our full support.

CLUB NIGHT: Club night to night will be hosted by Jonathan Goodbody.

JUNIORS: A busy time for Juniors over the Easter break, Stephen’s 1st Camp finished today, Camp 2 will be running from Tuesday next 3rd April – Friday 6th April, a few places still available.  There will be a Giant Fun tournament next Wednesday 4th from 4pm – 6pm, open to all over 7 year olds.  Sign-up sheet on the Notice Board.  As with the Adults, the Juniors will have their own Tennis 4 Cancer tournament on Friday 13th April from 4pm – 6pm, sign-up sheet on the Notice board.

There are a couple of Open tournaments on over the Easter holidays, Brookfield Open is on this week with Scott in the semi-final of the U/12 singles and Sarah Jane also reaching the semi-final of the Girls U/12 singles, best of luck to you both in your matches. Charlie is in Limerick at the South of Ireland Open and has reached the quarter-finals of the U/14 singles and doubles, best of luck in your matches Charlie. The Templeogue Open starts tomorrow, very best of luck to you all Monkstown participants. Karen McKenna will be acting as Junior Day Manager next week – Tuesday 3rd – Friday 6th April.
