News & Events 2nd May 2019

Summer League is very much on the horizon with the first set of matches scheduled for Friday 10th May. Men’s matches are played on Friday nights (7pm – 9pm) and Saturday afternoons 2pm – 5.30pm with 5 courts in play. Ladies matches are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, 7pm – 9pm with 5 courts also being in play. Apologies for this disruption which will last for five weeks.
The Captains, Carmel & Johnny, wish all the teams the best of luck.
The Easter Cup team won their 3rd place playoff match last Friday night, well done guys for getting the bronze medal!
The visit of the Ladies from Mullingar tennis club last Sunday proved a lovely afternoon for all involved, they were treated to great tennis followed by a delicious meal. Thanks again to Emily Kelly and her team for hosting this very popular event.
Club Night: Joe Gallagher is volunteering to host Club Night tonight! Joe is recovering from a hip replacement so his offer is most generous. Welcome Joe back this evening with a big turn out!
Ladies Morning is back on track after the Easter break. Unfortunately, both the Monday and Tuesday Charity league teams were pipped in their Semi Final matches, a great performance to reach the Semis. Gemma & Aislinn asked me to thank all the supporters, especially those who travelled to Bray on Monday!

Juniors: The club had a significant representation in the Templeogue Open last week, with Scott (Jr.) coming out as a double champion! He won both the Singles & Doubles U/12 Titles. Great performance Scott! Young Elliott played in the Portmarnock Open and won the Silver Draw. Congrats Elliott! Our President’s daughter, Rachel Speer, is in Malaysia playing for Ireland in the Touch Rugby World Cup, hope it’s going well for you Rachel. What an experience!
Conor continues on his travels continuing with his second week in Nottingham. Hopefully you read his result in the Irish Times yesterday, a good win in his singles match and he’s in the Quarter Finals of the doubles event. All going well he heads for Germany next week. Great stuff Conor!
