News & Events 31st May 2018

As another Bank Holiday weekend beckons there is definitely a holiday feeling in the air, coupled with the lovely weather. There’ll be a rest from Summer League matches this weekend and Monday night, much appreciated by the players, as both the Ladies and Men’s teams have really given their all in their matches. As I’ve said before, if you’re not playing league you should pop down and give the teams a bit of support. Home matches next week: Ladies – Tuesday 5th 2nd team, Wednesday 6th 1st team, all at 7pm. Men – Friday 8th   2nd team at 7pm, Saturday 9th 4th team at 2pm. Very best of luck to all teams as they enter the final phase of the league, all teams doing well and depending on last two matches we’ll certainly have a few in the Play Offs.

Men’s Morning is as popular as ever on Sundays, great to see Jonathan back this week after his recent break.

CLUB NIGHT: Club Night tonight will be hosted by none other than Jonathan!  A beautiful evening in store so pop down and give Jonathan a helping hand and enjoy your tennis.

The Ladies Morning committee tell me that there are just 2 more Wednesdays before the Summer Break. Stephen will be here at 9am on both Wednesdays for a coaching session before Ladies Morning starts at 10am.

JUNIORS: Again there are only two weeks of Group Coaching left this term.  There are still a few outstanding fees, so payment would be appreciated ASAP.  There will be the usual coaching throughout the Bank Holiday weekend. A reminder of the very popular Parent & Child tournament which will be held on Bank Holiday Monday next from 12 noon to 3pm. Signup sheet will be taken down on Saturday evening. Some of our Juniors have had great success at Schools level.  Conor Gannon was part of the St Michael’s team that won Division One of the Leinster Schools Senior Cup at Fitzwilliam last week. Sarah McAuley was on the winning team from Muckross who won the Leinster Senior A Cup, Anna Schwer was on the winning team from Holy Child who won the Senior B Cup and Lucy Schwer’s team won the Junior B Cup.

Trish Manahan & Marie Dee worked like Trojans yesterday replanting all the tubs – I’m told they bought out all the Busy Lizzies in the Garden centre!
