News & Events 6th December 2018

All is in readiness for the Presentation of the Gold Clubmark Award by the CEO of Tennis Ireland Richard Fahey, in the company of the Minister of State at the Department of Education Mary Mitchell-O’Connor, on Monday evening next at 6pm. If you’d like to attend and haven’t yet acknowledged, you’re more than welcome to do so by tomorrow Friday. It should be a special evening.

Carmel & Johnny got off to a flying start with their respective Turkey Tournaments last Sunday. There was a lovely friendly social atmosphere – which in no small way was complemented by the lovely goodies presented by Karen & Anne Marie – with Alan (Boyne) producing the most delicious Mulled wine! The Mixed Turkey Tournament is on next Sunday at 12 noon (on time please!) Entry Fee €10.00.   The signup sheet will be taken down on Saturday morning to facilitate the draw, so no cancellations after that! As usual would you bring a plate of Sambos/mince pies please!

Club Night: Club night tonight will be hosted by Joe Gallagher, welcome back Joe – you’ve been missed!

By all accounts the Ladies Xmas party was a resounding success. Again a big Thank You to the Committee of Sarah Jane, Helen, Anne and Caroline for the huge amount of work they put into decorating the clubhouse etc. and to Jason for the delicious meal. A huge amount of gifts were donated to the Vincent de Paul which was greatly appreciated.

Next Wednesday morning (12th) is Mulled Wine & Mince Pie morning! All Ladies invited down for 11am (for those who want to play there will be coaching from 9am and tennis from 10 – 11am) to raise your glass for a Happy Christmas and present our past Lady Captain Denise Cooney with a gift. The amount that was raised each Wednesday morning throughout the year for charity will also be announced.

Juniors: Huge Congratulations to young Scott who won the U/12 National Winter Match plays last week end in Galway. It augers well for next year young Scotty!

Group Coaching will recommence from Monday 7th January 2019.
