News & Events 7th July 2016

Hard to believe that the Handicaps are about to start  (Monday next 11th )

Breege & Andrew are working hard on the draw & the handicapping…not an easy job so no complaints please!!

They intend to have the Draw / Schedule up on the website by tomorrow,  Friday evening, or Saturday at the latest.

As with all events volunteers are required!….the Ladies in charge of the catering –  Emily & Clodagh – have put a list up looking for members to choose an evening to show their culinary skills!  Also Breege & Andrew ask competitors to volunteer to do “Sign in” duty for the tournament itself.

The 2 weeks of the H/caps is always a very sociable time & I’d encourage our new members in particular to pop down & have a beer or glass of wine & enjoy the tennis.

A date for your Diary is Finals day 23rd July when the annual BBQ is held.  Further details will be on the Notice Board next week.

The 5 Mile League final was played last Sunday…Monkstown hosted the event & both Aislinn & Sheelagh did a great job on the night with the catering etc.  Tough luck to Claire Aherne & her team who were pipped in the Final by a very strong Glenageary team!

JUNIORS;  Things are really hotting up on the Junior front with lots of activity going on …this week the highlight is the H/cap event with the Finals being played to morrow Friday from 10am.

Well done to Adrienne & her assistant Anna for running the tournament so smoothly.

A reminder that the Junior Championship entry forms must be with Adrienne by Tues Next 12th July. We expect a big entry for this very popular event so get those entries in now!

Our club coach Stephen is busy following the progress of our Juniors on the circuit. Naas was the venue last week…some good results . Congrats all round!

Castleknock is the venue for this weeks tournament.

A reminder of the Dates for the remaining 2 Tennis / Fun camps for July.

Camp 3:  11th July – 15th July.        Camp 4:    25th July – 29th July

Sign up sheets are on the Notice Board.

Good luck to all the competitors in the handicap tournament & here’s to a great 2 weeks.
