The Men’s and Ladies turkey tournaments were held last Sunday….well done to Greg & Deirdre on a very well organised morning/afternoon’s tennis – with the kitchen being manned by Breege Egan & Carmel Mc Allister in the morning and Margaret Heagney & Jacinta Timmons in the afternoon. A reminder that the Mixed Turkey is this Sunday 11th…there is a very large entry. The start time is 12 NOON – but it would help greatly if you would check in @ 11.45 am so the event can get going promptly at 12.   Entry Fee  E10..& as isn traditional please bring a plate of Sambos / Goodies!

The Winter League signup sheets are on the Notice Boards and the Captains ask that you signup before Friday 13th January.

The Ladies Tuesday Charity league team were pipped by a very strong Sandycove team in their Final last Tuesday. Monkstown hosted the final and served up delicious goodies for all!

We had a special Ladies Morning on Wednesday with a presentation to our outgoing Lady Captain Breege from the lady members. Part of her presentation included a magnificent photo album marking all the various events throughout the year….well done Eric yet again!

A representative from Pieta House received a donation of €1,000. This was made up of a €2 contribution that the ladies make each Wednesday throughout the year….a super total.   Along with the collection of all the goodies made at the Xmas Party and given to the Vincent de Paul, the Ladies have really shone as regards donations to charity this Christmas.

JUNIORS: A big weekend ahead for four of our Juniors.  Conor (U/16) – Josh (U/14) – Charlie (U/12) and Roy (U/12) have qualified for the Winter National Matchplays.  Charlie & Roy travell to Castlebar for their event while Conor & Josh play their matches in Westwood, Leopardstown. Each draw only has 16 players so it is a brilliant achievement to have qualified from the Provincials.  Very best of luck guys!

This is the last week of Group coaching – with the new term commencing on 9th January.

It has been decided, for security purposes, to lock the Patio door leading out to courts 4, 5, & 6 when I leave the club at lunchtime. Also would members please not park at the top of the driveway where the No Parking signs are.

A reminder that Grandstand Sports has now moved to Patrick St. ( beside Mikes Bikes). Keep going there & Michael will keep giving you discount!
