The teams, fixtures, schedule and rules for the Friday Team Tournament are now available on the website.

The Friday Team Tournament will start this Friday the 8th January 2010 at 7pm.

This took place on the morning of Sunday 6th December, before the Ladies Tournament. Twenty-eight members participated, allowing for 7 doubles partnerships in each of two groups. Many thanks to Michael Healy and Joe Gallagher from the Social Committee for providing the catering for the event. Well done to all who took part in a very enjoyable morning’s tennis!

This took place on Sunday 6th December, a week later than expected due to bad weather the previous week. The ladies took place at 1pm after the mens tournament which was held in the morning. I had 28 ladies in total and all games were played in a relaxed manner.

Well done to those who wore festive attire and prizes were given to Anne Tweedy and Suzanne Broughan for best festive dressed. Thank you to the ladies from the social committee who helped with catering on the day - Louise Gunning, Catherine Keane and Anne Broderick. Their mulled wine was much appreciated!

On Sunday 13th December we had 48 players for the mixed tournament. The weather was great and there were plenty of hard fought close games. We had Marcello, Pat Cleary and their Jazz band playing in the background during the day and this was enjoyed by all.

Carol Kelly and Grace Owens got prizes for best festive attire so well done for their effort among others. Thanks again to Louise Gunning and also Michael Healy for helping with the catering and mulled wine. Everyone got a chocolate santa going home and the tournament ended around 4pm.

Paul Kerr and Bina Shah had plenty of time to discuss tactics as they arrived at 11o'clock for the third place play -off at 12 o'clock. Their dedication was rewarded as Team C led by Anne Tynan defeated Team H captained by Brian Byrne in another close encounter by a score of 24 points to 21.
