Snippets 26/09/19

No doubt those of you who have a regular game on Mon / Tues nights, 7 - 9pm, got a bit of a surprise to see courts booked during these hours from next Monday 30th Sept. I meant to tip you off last week - but the weeks are flying by so quickly that I can't believe the Floodlight league is on top of us already...nor can the poor Captains! Anyway for the next 5 weeks there will be reduced court availability from 7 - 9pm . I've booked all the required courts so you can see in advance the court availability. Now for a brief summary of the Senior League with just one match to go (for most teams) LADIES: 1st team lying midway in their group....2nd AND 3rd teams TOP their Groups!...4th team struggling a little bit...5th team 2nd in their group & the 6th 7th & 8th teams should be safe.... MEN: O/35 1st team, 2nd in their group...2nd team should be ok. O/45's 3rd in their group & the O/55's TOP their group with no matches left to play! Pretty good standings all round - so Ladies & Gents be like the Irish team last Sunday & swipe the board from all the opposition! Stephen asked me to make a special mention of both Brendan Egan & Mark Smyth who made their debut on the 1st Team in Class 1 last week....and also to Brian Mc Daid on his great win also making his debut in Class 1!

Carmel has organised up another set of Round Robin matches, with 6 groups involved. The draws are here and on the Notice Board in the function room...The format is displayed on the board ...matches must be completed by Friday 1st get cracking!

The Men’s morning crew will be happy to hear that there are NO matches @ 9.30 this Sunday morning and only ONE @ 11am. Thanks for your patience over the last few Sundays!

Club Night: Club Night tonight will be hosted by Isabella Davison...many thanks Isabella... pop down and enjoy the usual cameraderie that is Club Night.

Ladies Morning: The Ladies morning is very much up & running after the Summer break....with lots of ladies coming to Coaching @ 9 am followed by Tennis @ 10. The Mon/ Tues Charity Leagues start next week...No match on Monday (30th) but one match @ 10am on Tues (1st) morning. I'll have a list of court bookings on the Notice Board from tomorrow.

Juniors: The DLTC Boys / Girls U/18 & U/14 teams all did pretty well in their 1st match last Sunday....keep flying the Monkstown flag with pride! The Stars& Stripes team have one match left in their of luck on Saturday & thanks to Lisa Blake & Ruth Marchand for organizing them...& to Fiona O'Sullivan who will be supervising this week.

Group Coaching is also well under way - will lots of kiddies involved & enjoying themselves.

A word of Congratulations to our own Ciaran Dolan who has been appointed Office Manager of the DLTC. Best of luck in your new post Ciaran!
