Well we're at the Playoff stages of the Senior League - and yet again Monkstown feature - actually I can't remember the last league where we had no team at this stage of the competition! The Ladies are represented by the 2nd - 3rd & 7th Teams.

  • The 2nds - captained by Pauline Phelan, play Glenalbyn 1st At Home on Sunday next 6th October @ 2pm.

  • The 3rd team, captained by Catherine Keane, have a bye so have no match this w/end.

  • The 7th team, captained by Emily Kelly, play CY Terenure 2nds in Terenure on Sunday @ 2pm. Very best of luck to all teams!

On the Men’s'side the O/35's 1st team are currently joint top of their group with one match to play. The O/55's, captained by Declan Mc Ateer, play Lansdowne 1st on Saturday week 12th Oct in Lansdowne. Time to be confirmed. Best of luck to your team Declan.

By the way my thanks to all the Captains - Ladies.... Helen, Pauline, Catherine, Martina, Anthea, Siobhan, Emily & Claire - and the Men…. Stephen, Eoin, Ciaran & Declan for their efficiency in returning their result sheet so promptly after each match!

The Floodlight league is now underway with both Men’s teams making a winning start - and two of the four ladies teams registering wins. Again thanks to the members who have to forfeit their courts on Mon/Tues nights.

Club Night: Because of the uncertainty of the weather for tonight it has been decided to CANCEL CLUB NIGHT tonight. Helen Ryan, who was to host tonight, has kindly offered to do next week instead.

The Ladies Morning Charity league started this week with great enthusiasm! Best of luck to all five teams - Monday teams captained by Mary Kenny & Colette Langan with the Tuesday teams captained by Sarah Jane Kerr - Karen Geraghty & Anne Considine. The court requirements for matches is on the Notice Board.

JUNIORS: Busy times with our Juniors - DLTC Junior League - Stars & Stripes and an Open Day for U/8's & U/10's.

The U/14 - U/18 leagues are progressing well..the Stars & Stripes U/12 play in a semi final in Leopardstown on Saturday...best of luck to the girls & boys!

Glenageary hosted an U/8 & U/10 tournament on Saturday last...a very good turn out from Monkstown - the future talent looks good!

The coaching programme has been disrupted pretty badly this week with the dreadful weather.

Just been watching Garry have another class match for Ireland....crossing the line for the 2nd match on the trot....a well deserved rest now for himself!

That's it for this week......remember NO Club night tonight!
