Congratulations to our 2019 Mens Champion, Conor & Ladies Champion Kate! We had a super 2 weeks of competitive tennis during the Championships and judging by the numbers of people who came down to support each evening it was a great success with a lovely atmosphere. Very well done to our Captains Carmel & Johnny, ably assisted by Anne Tweedy, who may as well have moved into the club for the two weeks with all the work that's involved in running the tournament so smoothly. Finals Day produced some high quality tennis...and how nice it was to see former members like Diane Ryan , who incidentally, when she was Captain along with Kevin Polley in 1999, introduced the very popular Captains' Day , coming back with many happy memories of the club.

As always our own Dee Nolan treated all of us to ice cream...hard to beat an ice cream wafer in the sunshine! Many thanks Dee! Thanks to all members who brought goodies for the afternoon tea....all very tasty and thanks to Molly Boyne who helped out in the kitchen & tidied up to perfection!

On to the At Home which was a resounding success....the atmosphere was super and the food - dancing & general craic was brilliant. Huge credit & thanks must go to Karen & Anne Marie who put in so much effort into making it the success it was. Our President, Geraldine gave an excellent opening speech followed with equal enthusiasm by our Captains Carmel & Johnny.

A small presentation was made to Eric for his unwavering committment to recording all of the events throughout the year. A very special talent Eric & thank you so much for all the time you give.

Thanks to all you members who forfeighted your courts to allow the Championships be played....all back to normal now!
