Snippets of 27 June

What a week Conor has had on the ITF circuit. This week the event was in Belfast and as I write he's in the Final of the Singles and plays the semis of his doubles this afternoon. Very best of luck Conor - you can do it!

The upcoming Handicap tournament is the next big event for members. The deadline for return of entry forms has been extended to Sunday next the 30th...so Carmel & Johnny would encourage you to enter - especially new members. It's a really sociable two weeks which culminates in the ever popular B B Q on finals day Sat 20th July. The list for catering each evening is on the notice board - Karen & Anne Marie would appreciate if you'd volunteer to do an evening that suits you......also there's a list for "sign in " duty. Thanks a mil!

On Sunday, June 30th, we celebrate the life of a very special member, Louise Gunning, who so sadly passed away a year ago next month. Catherine Keane - Anne Tweedy - Carol Kelly & Anne Broderick have organised a Ladies tournament in her memory. They have got huge support for the event and we look forward to welcoming Brian during the afternoon. Her girls Maeve & Isabel are away & can't make it and of course Julie is in the Staes & by all accounts has just finished another very successful year in college & is staying on for a couple of weeks vacation there. Louise was so proud of you all.
Just to tip off the Mens' Morning crew that the tournament is due to start at 12 noon, so all courts will be in use from noon until 4pm.

Our juniors are adjusting nicely to their super long holidays! Adrienne is here as Day Manager & Stephen's 2nd Camp is almost completed. They have their Handicap tournament starting next Monday - so enjoy! The schedule of matches for Monday next will be on the Notice board from tomorrow. Adrienne has suggested that Juniors bring their own water bottle to save having to use plastic cups. Thanks!

No doubt anyone doing exams is so relieved it's all over....and the parents! Relax now for the summer and all will be fine come September!

Hope you all enjoy the long awaited sunshine we're having...Lots of our members are heading off on holidays around now....wishing you all a super break...but it's hard to beat Dingle in the sunshine!!

I know a few of you are heading to Wimbledon...have a ball - but remember there's only one real contender!!!....our Fed!
